Tender description

The aim of the service is to deliver an integrated sexual health service to the population of Havering. The service will be comprehensive, evidence based, accessible, respect client confidentiality, high quality, responsive to client needs and cost-effective. Service delivered will support sexual health and well-being, provide the full range of contraceptive methods and screen, diagnose and treat sexually transmitted diseases including Chlamydia. It will also support the delivery of sexual health services in primary care and other community settings through the provision of professional training. The delivery of open access sexual health services is a mandated public health responsibility for the Council under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. Local authorities have a legal duty to commission HIV prevention, sexual health promotion, open access services for sexually transmitted infection, and contraception for all age groups. These include free testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, notification of sexual partners of infected persons, free provision of contraception as well as the provision of information, advice and support on a range of issues, such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraception, relationships and unplanned pregnancy.
