Tender description

Cornwall Council requires a short break service for children and young people with sensory loss and complex care needs in order to meet our statutory duties, national guidance, local strategic priorities and best practice. Accordingly, Cornwall believes there are 4 principal reasons for commissioning this service: 1. To support the Council to meet their statutory responsibilities in relation to short breaks provision for disabled children and young people. 2. To support the Council's commissioning strategy to procure services where there are gaps in services for disabled children and young people. 3. To ensure that disabled children and young people are effectively supported through the transition from childhood to adulthood. 4. To break down barriers associated with disability, promote inclusion and equality of opportunity. To provide county wide short breaks services to disabled children and young people under 3 contracts: A. Holiday Play Scheme and Youth Groups for disabled children and young people. B. Activities for disabled children and young people with Asperger's (ASD). C. Group Activities for disabled children and young people with sensory loss.
