Tender description

Wandsworth Borough Council (the ‘Council’) is inviting tenders from suitably experienced and qualified contractors for the provision of residential care and nursing care in registered care homes for older people, adults with mental health issues and adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities in accordance with the Specification at Volume 2 (the ‘Services’). The Council has established an open accredited framework (the ‘Framework’) which will operate for a period of four years commencing on 3.4.2017 but subject to an extension or extensions of up to an aggregate of 2 further years at the absolute discretion of the Council. The Council is establishing the Framework primarily for use by itself. The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames (‘Richmond’) will be able to call off from the Framework however it is anticipated that the volume of Services called off from the Framework by Richmond will be very low, if any. The Council requires the provision of the Services for the purpose of providing suitable accommodation to eligible adults within a safe environment and offering enabling, outcome focussed care and support, including support to maintain or to regain independent living skills and achieve outcomes that matter to them. The Care Home(s) in which the Services will be provided must be within the boundary of the London Borough of Wandsworth or within close proximity of this boundary. The Services are split between 2 types of care (1) residential care and (2) care home with nursing care. Residential care homes offer a place to live and personal care and support services, including meals. Nursing care homes offer nursing care services as well as a place to live and personal care and support services, including meals. The Services therefore can fall into any of the following 10 Categories: — Residential care only for: older people, older people with dementia (EMI), older people with long term mental health problems, adults with physical and/or sensory disability, adults with learning disabilities. — Care home with nursing care for: older people, older people with dementia (EMI), older people with long term mental health problems, adults with physical and/or sensory disability, adults with learning disabilities.
