Tender description

Sub-sea Magnetometer Survey for Archaeological purposes, of the proposed Goodwin Sands area in the English Channel, for an approximate area of 7 km2 (including buffer) and varying depth from approximately 1 m up to approximately 18 m. The survey is to provide baseline dataset to provide information on the presence of ferrous material on or shallow buried beneath the seabed. The data will be integrated with existing data. The Magnetometer Specification recommends a Caesium vapour magnetometer with sensitivity of <1nT (or equivalent system). The system should resolve anomalies to 2nT and above, and the Magnetometer should record data at 10 Hz. This notice is for the purpose of formal screening and qualitative assessment of potential tenderers to determine their capabilities and availability to undertake the works required. Proposals must be submitted in accordance with the instructions, following which the 3 most suitable tenderers will be invited to submit bids for/negotiate the survey works.
