Design of New Shannon Town Park

Tender description

The Lead Architect will lead a fully qualified design team as outlined above and provide all other consultancy services necessary for the performance of the services described in these tender documents. Clare County Council will form a Design Team and requires the services of the following disciplines: 1. Lead Consultant: Landscape Architect/PSDP/ Fire Safety Design (to include Urban Design, Planning, Horticulturalist, Arboriculturist and Ecologist) 2. Quantity Surveyor/s (Experienced in in the delivery of high quality town parks or public realm projects) 3. Civil and Structural Engineer/s (to include Hydrology, Hydroecology, Building Services Engineering) 4. Mechanical and Electrical Engineer/s 5. Traffic & Transportation Management The site of the proposed new Shannon Town Park is located in the heart of Shannon Town. The site has been subject to design in the Shannon Green Infrastructure Plan. In this respect the site has been developed to detail master plan level and the focus of the design was green infrastructure. The proposed new Shannon Town Park Project is an opportunity to develop and deliver this design. The scope and brief for the New Shannon Town Park Project is therefore widened to examine and incorporate areas other than green infrastructure. These areas are highlighted in the Project Brief. The Design Consultant will be required as part of the services to be performed; highlight any opportunities that should be explored even if these are not expressly listed in the brief. The Design Consultant will be required as part of the services to be performed demonstrate how the proposed design allows for the integration of the Park into the existing surroundings, providing the relative linkages, but most importantly providing a prominent, flagship project for the people of Shannon.
