Construction work for multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses

Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) intends to commission a number of new build projects comprising apartments and new homes over 5-8 years with an overall value of 50 000 000 GBP. CBC is looking for: Contractors with a clear understanding and successful track record of delivery in this area of work. Professional Services with a successful track record of acting as client's agent and contract administrator in leading the preparation and delivery of major multi site projects, including specification and contract drafting and stakeholder engagement in a political environment. CBC is keen to understand the market view on packaging the works, forms of construction and Form of Contract that would achieve the best result in terms of build, operation and life cycle costs. A pre-market engagement event is planned for Wednesday 22nd February. CBC is a unitary authority and has a retained housing stock of some 5 400 homes and completed several new build projects in recent years. It now intends to procure a pipeline of work that will provide flexibility of professional and construction services that can deliver the current workload and future work should new funding become available. CBC are open to suggestions of delivery models that may share both risk and reward to maximise the funding currently available. The key outcomes for this programme of work will be the successful delivery of the projects, to time and quality with a comprehensive transition to operational delivery of the buildings.
