Tender description
Maths and Computer Sciences: The University intends to co-locate the Schools of Mathematics and Computer Science and Informatics in a purpose-built facility (the ‘Project’). The University's requirement is divided into 2 Lots to appoint: 1. A suitably qualified project manager (Lot 1) to manage the Project on a day to day basis on behalf of and subject to the University's Project Board terms of reference; and 2. A suitably qualified organisation to provide quantity surveying (QS) services (Lot 2) to the University in relation to the Project including provide support to the appointed project manager and other team members to facilitate successful delivery of the Project. Further information is set out below and in a tender pack which is available to download (see section VI.3) for details). Maths and Computer Sciences Project Manager The Project Managers prime responsibility will be to ensure that the Project delivers the University's required outcomes in terms of, inter alia, standard of quality benefits, timetable and cost constraints. Cardiff University is conducting a separate procurement exercise to select a multi-discipline design team for the Project. The Project Manager will act as sole consultant and will be required to enter into contracts to appoint the Quantity Surveyor and each member of the multi-discipline design team selected by the University. The Project manager will participate and assist the University in the exercise to select the multi-discipline design team for the Project. Maths and Computer Sciences — Quantity Surveying. The QS will be required to provide quantity surveying services determined by the Cardiff University Projects Manual (CPM), and support the Project Manager and other team members to achieve the team's deliverables. The appointed QS will be required to assist the project manager who is responsible for the submission of documents and deliverables to the Project Board, by completing for example certain elements, sections and so forth, reports and similar documents. The Project Manager will act as sole consultant and will be required to enter into contracts to appoint the QS and each member of the multi-discipline design team selected by the University. The QS will also be required to assist the Project Manager appointed by the University in its tender exercise to select the multi-discipline design team for the Project.
