Tender description

The University’s Institute of Sport and Exercise Science (ISES) has a strong track record of delivering an impressive portfolio of higher education courses (sport management, teaching physical education, sports coaching, outdoor recreation, sport management, sports science and sport studies), undertaking sports science consultancy, motion performance and analysis research, managing high quality sports facilities and working with the local community to improve participation, access and performance in sport at all levels. Contract Requirements The standards within the Institute are rated as excellent and all of the students are expected to wear branded UW sports clothing within academic related activities. Significantly, the majority of the students engage with a large population of the community in a range of specialist areas including: coaching, physical education instructors, sports therapists, performance analysts, fitness trainers as part of their course. UW working in partnership with Worcester Students Union offers opportunities for students to represent the University at recreational and performance level (approximately 1250 students across 35 sports clubs) in a range of sports. Student teams represent teams nationally in their respective playing kits. In addition to their playing kits, students enjoy travelling to their matches and training wearing club leisurewear The successful tenderer will be expected to provide the range of clothing detailed in Appendix A – University of Worcester Academic Clothing Range for students and staff at the University of Worcester. All departments at the University will have access to this contract at the pricing submitted. Institutes/ courses which currently make use of this contract are: • Institute of Sport and Exercise Science (ISES) • Institute of Health and Society/ Sports Therapy • Institute of Education/PGCE • SU – leisurewear for Sports Clubs Any items required for students will be ordered and paid for directly by students. Tenderers will need to have a website (or the ability to create a website) to facilitate this and should therefore have the ability to accept payment by debit or credit card. (Staff in ISES will also order and pay for their items in this way). Items required for other staff will be ordered using a University of Worcester purchase order and will be paid for using BACS. A 30 day credit term will be applicable to these items. The majority of sales will occur in September due to students preparing for the start of the new academic year and sports seasons but there will be ad hoc requirements throughout the rest of the year. The majority of sales will be from students and staff in the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science, scholarship athletes and from Students’ Union clubs.
