TC167 Municipal Funeral Framework Agreement

Tender description

This Specification is for a fixed price tender, for a period of two years with an option to extend for a further one year for the Council’s Municipal Funeral Service (“the Services”) available from the successful Provider will be publicised in a leaflet produced by the Council. The Services will be used for those funerals which the Council has a statutory duty to provide AND will extend to residents within the Borough or within a 10 mile radius of the Borough Boundary who need to make funeral arrangements. The Framework Agreement will be between the Client and the Provider and the Provider will render his or her account directly to the Client. There are two types of funeral services; Type One for which no mourners are expected and Type Two for which mourners are expected. Type One - funeral (no mourners) – The Council will make the funeral arrangements directly with the Provider in line with the Type 1 specification. The Provider then bills the Council for the cost of the funeral in line with the tender price. Type Two - funeral (mourners) – The bereaved family/friends will make the individual funeral arrangements directly with the Provider in line with the Type 2 specification and the family pay the Provider in line with the tender price. Type Two – Funeral the bereaved Families/Friends will make all the funeral arrangements with the provider directly, in no circumstances will the Authority will get involved in the process or held liable for any costs, however they will be able to provide all the necessary information regarding the service.
