Tender description
The Council requires a vendor to undertake Specialist Design, Supply and Supervision of Installation of Rides, for the development of a new 26 000 000 GBP destination water and leisure facility in Coventry. There are 6 Lots available for Vendors to tender. The new facility will be located within Coventry city centre on a tightly constrained site that is located in close proximity to a Grade 2* listed building (Christchurch Spire) and the High Street Conservation Area. The Council has already appointed a Project Manager, Cost Consultant, Architect, Structural and Civil Engineer, M&E Engineer, leisure water and features designer and pool filtration and water treatment engineer. The Council's key vision for the development of the site is: To provide an exciting, iconic, high quality destination water and leisure facility that is accessible to everyone, draws people to Coventry and contributes to the delivery of the Coventry Sports Strategy 2014 — 2024. The ride will be a body ride that one or two people can ride together (the second person being a child with a parent or guardian). The ride will be a gravity experience that can accommodate either 1 or 2 person single / double ring rides, including a minimum of 2 ‘cone’, spherical or alternative switchback/oscillating experiences (1 episode open, 1 enclosed). The ride will be a body ride that 1 person can ride at a time. The ride will start from a given level on the ride tower as determined by the ride Vendor, and terminate in a splash pool at Level 1 (Vendor to advise the water depth and dimensions of the splash pool). Situated within the footprint of the ride tower, the ride will be a tube ride that can accommodate either 1 or 2 person single / double ring rides. It is a reduced version of the larger multi-person ride of similar design, designed for more compact internal installations. The ride will be a gravity experience that can accommodate either 1 or 2 person single / double ring rides, including a minimum of 3 nozzle sections providing upward lift within the ride path. The ride will be a one person body ride. As an additional option, the ride could start with a ‘Drop Box’ experience, and Vendors are invited to provide a separate design and price for this as part of their submission.
