Tender description
We are inviting you to take part in a Market Position Consultation Event for Providers & Partners on Tuesday 9 February 2016 in the Council Chamber, Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood, Bristol BS15 2TR from 2.30 – 4.30pm. If you can’t attend we are also welcoming comments by email. This consultation is vitally important for providers as when The Care Act 2014 came into effect last year it introduced the most significant reforms to the care and support system for a generation. The Act requires local authorities to facilitate and shape a diverse, sustainable and quality market by working with providers to promote the wellbeing of the whole local population, not just those whose care that they currently fund. As part of this we need to produce a new Market Position Statement which summarises supply and demand and signals business opportunities within the care market in the Council’s area. This will help the Council and its partners to engage with a wide range of providers, both current and potential, to plan for the future. At the same time it will help providers inform business choices such as capital investment, service expansion, diversification or workforce development. The format for the Consultation Event will be: 1. Welcome and introduction 2. Your opportunity to tell us what you think – we’ll fine tune this on the day to match the types of organisations represented a) Workshop sessions b) Feedback from workshops c) Plenary Session 3. Final remarks and close Please send nominations to attend to cchengagement@southglos.gov.uk or send us any comments on what else you think we should be including in this year’s Market Position Statement. For background information and to help you comment here are links to the Department’s previous Market Position Statement and the Market Shaping Toolkit that we are using to develop our new version. http://www.southglos.gov.uk/documents/Market-Position-Statement-April-2014.pdf http://ipc.brookes.ac.uk/services/documents/Market_Shaping_Toolkit.pdf We look forward to hearing from you or meeting you at the event.
