Tender description

Introduction: The print category forms part of the newly formed Information Content Management (ICM) Category within Crown Commercial Service (CCS). The priority for ICM over the next 12 months will be to work extensively with the market and customers to set out the strategic direction for this new category. Recognising market advancements and the challenges being faced by public sector customers ICM will be seeking to develop ‘integrated’ commercial solutions, which incorporates a combination of (Managed) Print, Post, Courier, Records Storage, Multifunctional Devices (MFDs) and Office Supplies category services. These solutions will form part of the overall ICM commercial offerings, which will continue to include Framework Agreements for the specific category areas. ICM Print: The ICM Print category recently undertook an extensive stakeholder review looking at customers Managed Print and eCommunications requirements resulting in the production of the Managed Print and eCommunications ‘go-to market’ category strategy. By combining the requirements of the current RM1687 Wider Public Sector Print Services Framework and the RM921 Print and Associated Services (Print Vendor Partner) Contract into one new framework, CCS aim to provide customers with a market leading commercial solution for their total print and eCommunications requirements, to drive value, benefits and savings for the public sector and to support customers through digital transformation. Engagement confirmed that a new agreement will be required to deliver traditional printed products and encompass digital requirements for customers at different stages on their digital journey. The Category's current position, in line with stakeholder engagement, is for a proposed 2-lot structure: Lot 1: Fully Managed End to End Print and eCommunications Solutions — single supplier lot. Scope of Services: Transition of some existing CG customer's end to end contractual arrangements and new public sector customer requirements for a fully managed service. Lot 2 Tailored Managed Print Solutions — multi supplier lot. Scope of Services: All elements of a managed print service available as individual elements or a total solution. The new arrangement will be available to all public sector customers and all customers will be able to access both lots. The purpose of the PIN is to: 1. Give advance notice that Crown Commercial Service (CCS) as the Contracting Authority, is to consider undertaking a tendering exercise to set up a new contracting vehicle to service Central Government and Wider Public Sector Organisations for their Managed Print and eCommunications requirements. 2. Gauge the market interest in this procurement. 3. Identify suppliers who would like to participate in an Industry Boot Camp. This will explain the business requirements and current procurement strategy in more detail and the intended outcome. It will provide an opportunity for suppliers to engage, ask questions and seek feedback. The Industry Boot Camp event will take place on TBC at venue TBC.
