Summary of the work The analysts will need to deliver the following • Design test cases • Contribute to test approaches • Run tests and document results • Provide information to software engineers on defects found • Work with the automation team to create regression packs where appropriate. Expected Contract Length 18 months Latest start date 01/02/2017 Budget Range £250-£350 per day (Exclusive of T&S) Why the Work is Being Done Redevelop the solution for the production of Smart Tachograph cards. Problem to Be Solved The Tachonet Solution needs to be fully tested as part of development process. We are seeking recent graduates to undertake a range of test activities which will be set by the test manager. Who Are the Users Users will include Freight operators, and HGV drivers and who need to apply for and DVLA staff who need to process applications Work Already Done Development of original solution and discovery work to establish options for solution. Existing Team Core project team. 1 x Project Manager plus support. By start of work will be full agile team including 3 or 4 testers – 2 of whom will be provided via this requirement. Current Phase Alpha Skills & Experience • Working knowledge of Test Competencies; • Test Automation • Manual Functional Testing • Exploratory Testing • An industry recognised test management tool • An industry recognised test automation tool • HTML/CSS/Javascript • A scripting language • SQL • Agile methods (Scrum, user stories) Work Location DVLA, Longview Road, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 7JL Working Arrangments Individuals will work as part of an agile delivery team working to a delivery manager for tasks and a test manager for ways of working. Work pattern will be standard office hours Mon to Friday (40 hours per week). Security Clearance BPSS Additional T&Cs T&S charges only apply for staff that commute over a 75 mile journey in each direction. This is based on the distance that would be reasonable to expect a person to commute to the principal location(s). T&S is only applicable at the following maximum rates (excluding VAT): i. For T&S including travel but no overnight stay: Suppliers plain day rate plus £45.00. ii. For T&S including overnight stay: Suppliers plain day rate plus £90.00. The successful Supplier will also be required to submit CV's prior to the Evaluation and undertake a telephone interview. No. of Suppliers to Evaluate 5 Proposal Criteria • Specific experience in the following; • Selenium • Ruby • Capybara/Cucumber/Gherkin Cultural Fit Criteria • Experience of working in a team • Graduate experience of working alongside software engineers on a shared project Payment Approach Time and materials Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 70% Cultural fit 10% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers 1. This looks like a specialist role and not an outcomes role as you need candidates paid on a Time and Materials contract which is not capped? This is an outcome and the requirement is for 2 roles, with the day rate set between £250-£350 per day. We will require a proposal and CV's will also be requested. A telephone interview with the successful supplier will also be carried out. Deliverables will be discussed/agreed with the successful supplier. 2. This looks like it should be a specialist requirement and not Outcomes as it states time and materials which are not capped with specific deliverables and looks as though you just want good candidate CVs within £250-£350 budget. Can you please confirm? This is an outcome and the requirement is for 2 roles, with the day rate set between £250-£350 per day. We will require a proposal and CV's will also be requested. A telephone interview with the successful supplier will also be carried out. Deliverables will be discussed/agreed with the successful supplier. 3. This requirement is specified within the outcome-based requirement Lot but is asking for specialists on a day-rate (i.e. time and materials basis). It's not clear what the outcome of this requirement is intended to be, apart from the provision of specialists within an existing team. The outcome is to redevelop the solution for the production of Smart Tachograph cards. The Solution needs to be fully tested as part of development through undertaking a range of test activities which will be set by the test manager. There is a budget in place and the stated day rates can not be exceeded. 4. Could you please confirm whether the rate identified is per resource supplied? I can confirm the rate stipulated is for each resource.
