Tender description

The London Borough of Croydon (‘the Council’) intends to appoint a single, strategic partner to provide it with a range of legal services with effect from 1.1.2018 for a period of up to seven (7) years. The Council intends that the contract will cover legal services falling within four core categories, namely: — Property (residential and non-residential), including planning matters; — Commercial; — Litigation (civil); and — Employment (contentious and non-contentious) Further details of the services are set out in the procurement documents (including draft contract and specification), which are or will be accessible from the Contracting Authority via the links included in Section I.3). The procurement of this contract is subject to the ‘light touch’ regime under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended), but following a procedure analogous to the Competitive Dialogue procedure. The initial term of the contract is expected to be 5 years although the Council anticipates having the option at its absolute discretion to extend the term for up to a further 2 periods of 1 year each, thereby bringing the maximum term to a period of 7 years. The anticipated maximum value of the contract is currently expected to be up to 2 500 000 GBP per annum, net of VAT. A 7-year term (including extension options, if exercised) may bring the overall contract value into the region of 17 500 000 GBP.
