Summary of the work Create Java-based Microservices to enable to future of Online Passport Renewals. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 6 months with potential to extend to 24 months. Latest start date 05/01/2016 Maximum Day Rate Up to £700 Who Speclialist Work With You'll be working with a full team with Product Managers, Automation Testers, Business Analysis, Service Managers, User Researchers and Designers. On your technical team, there'll be a 2 Node.js developers and a Java Developer to pair with. What Specialists Work On Working with our Online Passport Renewals service to enable the service to serve more customer types. We have a Microservice based architecture and can get from commit to production deployment in 10 minutes. This role will involve implementing Java based REST APIs which need to handle considerable customer throughput and be fault tolerant. We use the latest versions of all technologies and this is a great opportunity for a bright individual to join a well run and organised team. Skills & Experience • Senior Software Engineer with exemplary Java Skills • Understand REST and HTTP • Java 8 experience preferred • Experience with Microservices, authentication and authorization • Be a good cultural fit, listen to feedback, challenge in a supportive way • Good enough to provide architectural guidance, understand security concerns • Have a track record of delivery • Ability to mentor junior developers Nice to Haves • Work with AKKA and have Scala experience • Understand Kanban • Node.js Experience Work Location Work will be in the Home Office, 2 Marsham Street, London. Working Arrangments Working hours 9.30 am to 5 pm. Work from home allowed at scrum master's discretion. Security Clearance SC Clearance preferred.
