Summary of the work The WebOps Engineer will work alongside Project teams to successfully build, provide and maintain different infrastructure hosting for test and production environments; UK Cloud, SCC and AWS. Specialist role Web operations engineer Expected Contract Length 9 months with an option to extend by upto 9 months at the Authority’s sole discretion Latest start date 01/02/2016 Who Speclialist Work With The WebOps Engineer will be working within an established multi-disciplinary WebOps team, supporting all DWP Working Age Platform projects; test & production. What Specialists Work On A minimum of 2 WebOps Engineers are required to work alongside the Project’s COTS suppliers’ personnel & Cloud Hosting providers’ personnel in the successful build and maintenance of a Windows-based Production & Test platform. Skills & Experience • Multidisciplinary expert who has a deep (minimum 3years) understanding of Windows, several web server technologies, caching technologies, several databases (minimum MySQL& Mongo), storage infrastructure, cryptography, algorithms, trending and capacity planning.15% • Multidisciplinary expert who has a deep (minimum 3years) understanding of networks, routing, switching, firewalls, load-balancing, high availability, disaster recovery, TCP & UDP services, NOC management, hardware specifications.15% • Proven ability to produce terraform and ansible scripting to safely and predictably create, change, and improve production infrastructure. 10% • Has previously worked with DWP on digital projects utilising UK Cloud (previously known as Skyscape) and AWS hosting service environments. 5% • Security cleared. 5% Work Location One Leeds City Office Park Meadow Lane Leeds LS11 5BD Working Arrangments On-site in Leeds One, working to DWP business working days patterns alongside the wider the team to cover the hours 7am to through to 8pm, for live support requirements.
