Tender description

The Met Office is a trading fund within the Department for Business, Energy and Industry Strategy, operating on a commercial basis under set targets. As the UK's National Weather Service it provides a range of weather and climate services to a large number of public and private sector organisations. It also represents the UK within the World Meterological Organisation (WMO) and plays a prominent role in international meteorology. Underpinning these services is the Met Office High Performance Computer located in IT Halls at two locations within Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom. The Met Office wishes to undertake early market engagement with potential providers who undertake self delivery of Critical Infrastructure Asset Maintenance to assist the development of its commercial approach to market for a new contract due to commence in December 2018. Service Providers with specific experience of providing self delivery of critical infrastructure asset maintenance consisting of planned, reactive maintenance and limited minor works to infrastructure operating 24 hours / 365 days are invited to express their interest on the Met Office etendering portal.
