Tender description
1.1 The National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) intends to appoint an architect- led multi-disciplinary design team for a new National Collections Facility in the Granton area of Edinburgh. The National Galleries of Scotland (NGS) intends to appoint and architect-led design team for the development of a new Waterfront National Collections Facility at Granton including experience in some or all of: — Intelligent solutions to complex storage, access, security and/or distribution requirements. — Strict environmental conditions. — High energy efficiency. — Building design with the ability to increase work efficiency. — Meaningful placemaking and urban planning. — Genuine consultation with a wide range of stakeholders. — BIM. — In addition, experience of working to Passivhaus or equivalent building standards will be considered an advantage, as will working in the heritage sector.
