Islington Council is carrying out a market testing exercise for potential availability of property for our Young People’s Supported Accommodation Pathway. This is a market test. It is not a formal invitation to tender. The Council is reviewing the accommodation pathway and anticipates the new contract to commence 01 April 2018. It is anticipated that the contract will run for an initial period of three years with the option of a further six (6) extensions of one (1) year. The service will be funded through Housing and Adult Social Care Prevention Commissioning and Children’s Services. We anticipate the service will be commissioned on a block purchase payment although this may change. The young people’s accommodation pathway will provide housing and support to young people aged 16-25 including those who are looked after, leaving care and young offenders with an emphasis on stabilising young people to a point that they are able to living independently. The five (5) focus areas will be, economic wellbeing, being healthy, making a positive contribution, staying safe and enjoying and achieving. The Council is looking for landlords who can provide accommodation for the lifetime of the contract with the possibility of an extension. We are keen to hear from landlords may also be support providers or landlords that will allow another organisation to provide support from their building.
