Single Point Design Team (SPDT) Services including Cost Control & Quantity Surveying for Clinical Science Institute Building Refurbishment

Tender description

NUIG intends to carry out refurbishment works in the Clinical Sciences Institute (CSI) Building. The CSI is a 3 storey building of 4,000m2 approx and is located on the grounds of University Hospital Galway. Works will involve the reconfiguration of existing accommodation to create new teaching class rooms, offices, study areas and other support spaces. Works also involve refurbishment of existing lecture theatres, classrooms, offices, toilets, restaurant, entrance foyer and general circulation spaces, the replacement and upgrade of existing mechanical and electrical building services infrastructure such as handling unit, electrical distribution boards, emergency and general lighting system. Construction works will be carried out on a phased basis with phase 1 priority works to be delivered during the summer months of 2015. The proposed SPDT will comprise demonstrable expertise in the key disciplines of architectural services, structural engineering services, building services engineering, quantity surveying and project supervisor for the design process services. The SPDT will be appointed as Design Certifiers, Assigned Certifiers and Ancillary Certifiers as appropriate to comply with the Building Control Regulations 2013
