Tender description

Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks bids from suitably qualified providers to supply Residential Care Home Step-down Bed Services in line with the declared specification requirements including relevant standards. The Care Home Services are required for those patients that no longer require acute hospital services, and are unable to return home. Step-down should not be considered a permanent placement and the Service Provider shall clearly distinguish between the Step-down facility and other care they provide. The Trust is seeking bids from Care Homes that are situated within a 5 mile radius of the Hospital site and the capacity and capability to supply services. This business is split into 2 Lots: lot 1) Block Booking of Residential Care Home Bed Services and lot 2) Spot Purchase of Residential Care Home Bed Services. Bidders can submit offers in relation to supply under either or both lots. The Trust seeks bids from suitably qualified providers to offer block booking of bed services for Residential Care Services throughout the contract period in line with the declared specification requirements. The estimated level of business relates to block purchase of 4 beds for the 2 year contract period. This may be split between, 1, 2 3 or 4 suppliers on the Framework under this lot. The ITT documentation includes details of the specification requirement, guidelines for submitting a bid, and the evaluation methodology. Bids are sought from suitably qualified providers offering Residential Care Home Step-down Bed Services on a spot purchase basis. The estimated number of beds required per week is 2 to 3 beds shared between the Suppliers awarded to the framework contract. It is anticipated with respect to lot 2 (Spot Purchase) that a min. 4 and max. 6 Care Homes will be awarded this business. Care Homes awarded to the contract under lot 2 will become priority providers on an ad-hoc spot purchase basis. This means the most suitable care home will be selected on the basis of location, patient requirement and patient/family preference from the list of framework suppliers under lot 2 and given priority over any other Care Homes for this business.
