Guide to Road Safety Route Teatment 2

Highways England is seeking provision of services to produce a revision to the existing Guide to Road Safety Route Treatments to align with our Safe Systems approach. This work will contribute to the outcomes in the Roads Investment Strategy (RIS), Highways England Strategic Business Plan (SBP) and our commitments in the Delivery Plan by: Providing clear guidance on best practice for treating routes with road safety issues to further develop Highways Englands ability to meet the goal that no one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network (SRN) and an ongoing reduction in Network KSIs to support a decrease of at least 40%, against the 2005-09 baselines, by the end of 2020; Providing professional advice, technical leadership and specialist advice to enable and innovate in the operation and development of the Strategic Road Network. We will work with colleagues, stakeholders and customers to ensure that no-one should be harmed when travelling or working on the strategic road network by providing advice on measures that can be implemented to help improve the star rating of routes on the SRN.
