Tender description

It is the intention of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as the Contracting Authority to put in place a contract for Security Services delivery across the DWP Estate. The services required will include security guarding, installation of new security systems, maintenance of existing security systems and security advice. The DWP Estate currently consists of more than 900 properties with a variety of building usages, including Jobcentres Plus sites and Corporate Centres in central urban and remote rural locations throughout the United Kingdom. Experience of providing national security contracts and the TUPE transfer of large workforces will be required. The contract duration will be 5 years with the option for DWP to exercise 2 1-year extensions. The DWP requires a comprehensive Security Service for its Estate across the UK. The core services may include, but are not limited to: the potential TUPE transfer of a workforce of over 2 500 security guards and provision of the following security systems and services: — security guarding deployment management and patrol systems, — design, installation, testing and commissioning of security systems including closed-circuit television, access control, intruder detection, radios, panic alarms and fire detection systems, — a control and monitoring facility and any back up facilities, — maintenance and support of existing and new security systems. The contract requirement includes developing a security risk assessment process and transforming the Security Service across the Estate. This will include updating the security guarding deployment model and designing an integrated security solution on a site by site basis.
