Tender description

Avanti Communications is seeking a VSAT equipment supplier (hub and terminals) to potentially provide the infrastructure to deliver 40 Mbps/5 Mbps satellite broadband services to 1 000 small and medium sized businesses. The project will include funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Avanti's priority is to ensure that the available public funding is used most effectively to deliver the project. All services will be delivered using Avanti's Ka-band HYLAS 2 satellite. Minimum Technical Requirements to Qualify for RFP Number of Terminals: 1000 Total throughput: 200/30 Mbps (FW/RTN) Carrier Size: 67 Msps minimum (depending on spectral efficiency required to meet throughput) Dish size: 74 and/or 98 cm (depending on required spectral efficiency) Functionality: Support enterprise services including: NAT, Layer 2 transport with network acceleration, VLAN, IPv6, VoIP support and DiffServe QoS, integrated 4 port Ethernet switch, support > 10,000 pps and > 2000 TCP connections (Options: VRRP and BGP support), satellite link encryption Potential suppliers must be able to demonstrate a track record of successfully delivering hub and terminal products to customers operating on a similar, or larger, scale.
