Provision of a Healthcare Waste Collection & Treatment Service

Tender description

This procurement relates to the provision of healthcare waste collection, disposal and recovery services. The Trust will employ the Supplier during the period to actively manage, develop, improve and maintain the waste services, including the development of recovery and waste minimisation opportunities. This contract will provide for the collection of any wastes defined under the Controlled Waste Regulations 2012 as 'healthcare waste' or as 'clinical waste', or any waste described within Chapter 18 of the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) codes (excluding animal healthcare), or any waste considered be similar enough to these definitions that they are included (e.g. 200131* cytotoxic and cytostatic medicines). Full details of the Authority's requirements are set out in the Specification in Annex B2 of Section B. The contract is for three years with option to extend by 2 periods of 12 months.
