Tender description

The Haematology department within Cardiff and Vale UHB have previously invested in implementing a temperature monitoring system provided by Rees Scientific. In order to meet ISO 15189:2012 accreditation and MHRA regulatory requirements, additional probes and a higher level of calibration are required for the existing temperature monitoring system, provided by a supplier accredited to ISO 17025 standards. Rees Scientific are the incumbent provider of the existing temperature probes and to use a different company to maintain and calibrate would invalidate the warranty of the equipment. In addition, Rees Scientific are providing additional probes which can only work on their IT systems, using another manufacturer would necessitate the purchase of a whole new system. The UHB seeks to award a 3 year contract directly with Rees Scientific to provide necessary and accredited calibration of the temperature monitoring system and supply of additional probes.
