Majestic Waterways - Call for Partners

Tender description

Marketing Birmingham is the area's strategic marketing partnership, which focuses on three business areas (i) investment, (ii) the visitor economy and (iii) strategic marketing. This project is co-funded by the VisitBritain/VisitEngland 'Discover England Fund', run by a steering group comprising partners from the Midlands Engine. Stakeholders include the Canal & River Trust (CRT), Shakespeare's England, LeicesterShire Promotions, Visit Tamworth, British Marine (BM), private hire boat yards, attractions and narrowboat suppliers. This project aims to improve the offer to international tourists, based on the beautiful and historic canal and waterways network. We are developing a pilot through focused activities based on the Warwickshire Ring, at the heart of the Midlands' and English canal network. We seek partners with existing assets to build upon and share developments with, bearing in mind our pilot phase target market visitors from Germany, The Netherlands and Sweden. Partners will not be required to do the development work - but to work in partnership with the steering group to select the technology and information design supplier through an open tender process, and facilitate the agreed developments to their assets, for the benefit of overseas visitors.
