Tender description

The better defence estate strategy aims to support military capability by providing a smaller but better estate for the armed forces and their families out to 2040 and beyond. A detailed, long term plan to reduce the defence built estate by 30 % and provides a framework for the geographical lay down of our forces in the UK for at least a generation. Developed in partnership with military leaders it sets out where investment will be concentrated and sites that will be sold. DIO is currently developing its strategy to meet the overall aims, through developing a supplier engagement framework and an appropriate engagement route to keep communication channels open and engaging to the widest network, ranging from major Public Limited Companies (PLCs) to Medium and Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) Suppliers. UK MOD Defence Infrastructure Organisation-DIO is holding its first Estate Optimisation Industry Engagement Event on 14.12.2016 @ Central Hall Westminster, London, SW1H 9NH. Companies wishing to attend must formally register their interest and nominate max 2 attendees by emailing: DIOASP-EstateOptimisation@mod.uk — by Noon 9.12.2016. Please indicate if you would like the opportunity to have a 1-2-1 meeting with snr DIO reps in the afternoon, to discuss your particular interests and range of services you may be able to offer. DIO Commercial Strategy is under development, a number of options may be developed to acquire services and goods via existing or new routes to market. DIO will be seeking to optimise competition and innovation, including exploring revenue generation initiatives. It is envisaged that a number of future events will be initiated as Focus Groups and/or Information Exchange Forums to best explore and inform the overall Estate Optimisation strategy going forward.
