Who Speclialist Work With A multi-disciplinary agile team including UX designer, user researcher, front-end developer, back-end developer, content designer, web ops, tech arch, delivery manager and service manager. What Specialists Work On The Developer will work with the team to build our public facing API, developer documentation site, code samples and code libraries to support programmatic access to ONS data. Where the Work Takes Place Newport, South Wales Early Market Engagement Working Arrangements Work will be on-site in Newport (Mon-Fri) - there is the potential for work from home days by agreement with the Service Manager. Work Location Newport, South Wales Security Clearance Disclosure Scotland security vetting. Additional T&Cs Skills & Experience Significant experience with at least one programming language commonly used for API development - ideally Go. Experience of designing and maintaining public HTTP APIs, particularly using JSON. Experience of RESTful API design Experience of other programming languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, Node) Experience of working with API documentation formats, e.g. Swagger Experience of working in a *nix environment, ideally with Mac OS and Linux Experience of working with a DevOps approach, ideally within a PaaS environment Knowledge of the latest secure coding practices (e.g. OWASP) Experience working in an agile team using BDD and TDD. Experience of complex projects enabling the candidate to input and lead on design decisions. Experience of working as a developer within an agile team. e.g. Using Scrum, Kanban or similar methodologies.
