Pension Administrator: Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme

Tender description

Procurement of a supplier of pension administration services for Royal Mail Statutory Pension Scheme (RMSPS). This scheme is managed by the Authority. The RMSPS transferred to the public sector in April 2012 and the current contract expires in March 2017. The Authority is looking for innovative proposals to respond to this significant pension administration services opportunity. This procurement is solely for the pension administration services to the RMSPS. The successful pension administrator will be expected to work with Royal Mail Pension Plan's (RMPP) pension administrator, Royal Mail Group Limited (RMG), with regard to those members who are beneficiaries in both RMSPS and RMPP. RMSPS is currently the 6th largest public sector pension scheme in the United Kingdom. The RMSPS has approximately 402 000 deferred members and pensioners. Approximately 116 000 of these are also members of the RMPP. he scheme has no active members so there are no accruing costs or contributions. Please note that all applicants are required to submit a signed Non- Disclosure Agreement with their completed SQ. Applicants' suitability to participate will be assessed using the SQ. Following the initial evaluation, shortlisted applicants will receive an invitation to participate in negotiation. The Authority reserves the right to invite additional applicants to tender in certain circumstances, for example if a shortlisted applicant withdraws from the competition. At the invitation to participate in negotiation stage more information is expected to be made available to applicants. Applicants will then submit detailed propositions, which will be subject to further evaluation, the criteria for which will be made available to applicants on receiving an invitation to participate in negotiation. The Authority shall not be liable for any costs incurred by those applicants tendering for this contract. The Authority reserves the right to terminate the tendering exercise at any time without the award of a contract.
