The University of Sheffield is out to tender on behalf of the Department of Psychology for a Multi-Photon Microscope. We require an adaptable, modular microscope system for multi-photon imaging of neuronal and glial cell activity in vivo and in vitro. Experiments involving photo-activation of light sensitive channels will be performed in addition to imaging of fluorescent proteins and indicator dyes, and flash photolysis of caged compounds. We are currently setting up a new laboratory in the Department of Psychology with a research programme focused on the study of neuro-vascular coupling and brain energy use, combining studies at cellular, systems, and behavioural levels. During this start-up stage of the laboratory, we require an adaptable, modular and inexpensive microscope system for multi-photon imaging of neuronal and glial cell activity in vivo and in vitro.
