1545/313/SW/PTG/16 Automated Machining Cell The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for the supply of an Automated Machining Cell for use within the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre's Process Technology Group at Catcliffe, Rotherham. Scope of Requirement: The supply, installation and commissioning of a machining cell at the AMRC to consist of: — 3 axis milling machine; — 2 axis lathe; — Solution (e.g. robot) for semi or fully automated loading and unloading of cutting tools and workpieces for the purpose of in-line measurement. The equipment should have the ability to machine numerous materials from the aerospace, automotive and other high value manufacturing industries; including Titanium, Nickel based alloys and high strength steel, etc. The equipment will also support the AMRC's fundamental research into technologies such as machinability, dynamics and process monitoring. Supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of the equipment as per tender specification.
