Tender description

HS2 Ltd is the company responsible for developing and promoting HS2. It is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Transport. Due to the exceptional nature of the HS2 project, the Government believes that it should go further than required by law to assist affected property owners living in proximity to the proposed route of HS2. As such, HS2 Ltd has implemented a package of discretionary schemes to work alongside the Compensation Code. The role of the panel member is to sit on the panel reviewing applications to the Need to Sell (NTS) scheme. This is a discretionary measure to assist property owners who have a compelling reason to sell their property, but have been unable to do so — other than at a substantially reduced value — as a result of the publication of the HS2 route. The panel consists of 3 independent members, chosen on a rotational basis from a pool of approximately 20 members. Each panel member will be expected to attend approximately one meeting every 6 weeks for the next 5 years. The meetings are held at an HS2 Ltd office in central London (however they may be held in Birmingham in the future).
