Tender description

The University is seeking tenders for the supply of a high pressure die casting (HPDC) die set for generating HPDC test and characterisation parts for the purposes of technology research investigations. The die is intended for process and material property characterisation studies and does not represent a production part, but is required to meet with production specifications to be representative of appropriate product quality. The die set is required for casting a range of aluminium and magnesium alloys to understand tooling, process and alloy chemistry effects on the physical and mechanical; and overall structural performance and response, of the HPDC test parts. Cast parts may also be exposed to various heat treatment cycles owing to their alloy composition.
