CP1284-16a DCC Fleet Maintenance Contract ITT

Tender description

The Authority operates a fleet of approximately 370 vehicles comprising a range of types and manufacturer allocated throughout the Council’s various Service units and Community Groups and which are in daily use on a wide variety of tasks in dispersed locations within the County of Devon. The fleet currently consists of the following: Light Vehicles: • Car – 15 • Car Derived Van – 79 • Mobile Classroom - 3 • Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) - 40 • Tractor - 1 • Trailer - 17 • Panel Van - 26 • Pick Up - 1 • Pick Up 4x4 - 18 • Crew-Cab – 4 Heavy Vehicles • Minibus - 31 • Mobile Library - 5 • Wheelchair Accessible Bus (WAB) - 79 • Wheelchair Accessible Car (WAC) - 32 • Wheelchair Accessible People Carrier (WAPC) - 25 To obtain maximum benefit and flexibility of use of the Authority’s fleet, vehicles are moved within the County as required. The Authority intends to let a multi lot contract for the maintenance and repair of the fleet for a period of 5 years from the 1st of April 2017, with the Council having options to extend by two additional one year periods. The contract is for the use of Devon County Council however a very small number of vehicles used by Libraries Unlimited and the Youth Service in Devon, as well as other services which may separate from DCC over the next 5 years, may use the contract. The Authority has created 4 Lots, dividing Devon into North and South (according to Appendix F)and Light and Heavy Vehicles as above. The Lot specification is as follows: Lot 1 Light Vehicles – South Devon Area Lot 2 Heavy Vehicles – South Devon Area Lot 3 Light Vehicles – North Devon Area Lot 4 Heavy Vehicles – North Devon Area Please note that tenderers may bid for one or more Lots.
