Southampton has seen a significant increase in the numbers of children coming into care, significantly higher than would be anticipated for a City of Southampton's size and demographics. A decision was made to investigate the potential for developing a service to provide a rapid and intensive service to prevent children and young people coming into care, this service will be known as the Edge of Care Service.
