Residual Waste Treatment and/or Disposal Services

Tender description

In pursuance of the Council’s obligations as a waste collection and disposal authority the Council has awarded through competitive tender four contracts for the provision of Treatment and/or Disposal Services for Contract Waste. Due to the scope of the services and the nature of the residual waste, the procurement process was split into two separate Lots as follows: LOT 1 – Treatment Services – Kerbside Residual Waste LOT 2 - Treatment and/or Disposal Services – Bulky Residual Waste Two contracts were awarded within each Lot as it demonstrated value for money to do so. Consideration was also given to the proximity principle and the environmental impact of tenders when awarding the Contract(s). Contract(s) for Lot 1 commenced on 1 October 2016 (“the Commencement Date”) and continue for a Term of 2 years, with a right for the Council to extend the Term on one or more occasions up to 31 October 2020. Contract(s) for Lot 2 commenced on 1 November 2016 (“the Commencement Date”) and continue for a Term of 2 years, with a right for the Council to extend the Term on one or more occasions up to 31 October 2020.
