Executive search and selection services for 'Be First'.

Tender description

In its report published in February 2016 the independent Barking & Dagenham Growth Commission recommended a Borough-wide regeneration vehicle to manage the delivery of the Borough’s housing and regeneration plans. The council has now approved the implementation of such a vehicle, which has provisionally been named ‘Be First'. Work has now progressed to the point that the concept of Be First has been accepted by Council senior management and elected members and a proposal to proceed to implement it has been approved by the Council’s Cabinet. The appointment of the Chair, Board members and Chief Executive of Be First is a critical activity in that implementation, and it is recognised that it will be highly desirable to appoint to these key positions as early as possible, in particular the Chair and Chief Executive, to allow the new postholders to have a say in establishment of Be First at the earliest opportunity. The requirement therefore is for a recruitment consultancy to support the Council in recruiting the following posts: a) Chair of the Be First Board, part time (1 or 2 days per week) b) Up to 5 other Board members, part time (up to 1 day per week) c) Chief Executive, full time The scope of the requirement will include: • General advice to the Council at all stages of the process • Development of role descriptions and competence/experience profiles • Data-driven advice on appropriate remuneration packages for these roles • Search for suitable candidates • Shortlisting • Preliminary interviews? • Administration, including providing feedback to candidates
