Tender description
Chevening is the UK government's international awards scheme aimed at developing global leaders. Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, Chevening offers 2 types of awards — Scholarships and Fellowships. The Chevening India programme is the largest in the world. We offer up to 130 fully funded scholarships and fellowships. The scholarships are for a 1 year Master's degree in any subject at a recognised UK University. The fellowships offer specifically designed courses aimed at mid-to-senior level professionals from India who are looking to expand their knowledge and expertise in their specific field of work. The programmes are tailored short courses which run for 8-12 weeks at a designated UK university. Chevening offers a unique opportunity for future leaders, influencers, and decision-makers from all over the world to develop professionally and academically, network extensively, experience UK culture, and build lasting positive relation. Since its inception in 2012, the Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship Programme (SAJP) has delivered 3 pioneering Chevening South Asia Fellowship Programmes. We are now seeking contract tendering for 3 programmes in FY2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19. We are proposing a multilateral programme involving seven countries in South Asia: Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Afghanistan to participate along with Pakistan and India. The programmes is aimed at mid-career journalists from these seven countries with the next programme due to start in January 2017. The programme is fully funded by the FCO Chevening budget. The Chevening Standard Chartered Financial Services Fellowship is a new programme starting in 2016-17 for mid-career Indian nationals in the finance sector. Ideal applicants are mid-career professionals displaying leadership potential, and have demonstrable experience in a relevant financial services discipline(s) from government as well as the private sector. This Fellowship is being funded by the FCO and Standard Chartered Bank under a local partnership arrangement. Standard Chartered PLC is a British multinational banking and financial services company head-quartered in London. It operates a network of more than 1 200 branches and outlets across more than 70 countries and employs around 87 000 people globally.
