The safety inspection of 100 piers at various location in County Donegal and its islands.

Tender description

Donegal County council seek to engage a specialist consultant with marine engineering experience to undertake safety inspections at 100 piers and associated marine structures (20 of which are on islands) at various locations around the Coast of Donegal that have public access. The purpose of the inspections is to assess the risk to the visiting public and leisure users of the working piers. The assessment shall consider the type and condition of safety features already present, identify potential hazards, recommend potential remedial measures, prioritise them based on an agreed risk based matrix and report on same. In addition a further more detailed inspection and structural assessment shall be undertaken on two piers on mainland Donegal.
