Tender description

North Hertfordshire District Council invites Tenders for bulk transport, processing and sale of Commingled Recyclable materials for itself and on behalf of East Hertfordshire District Council. North Hertfordshire Council is leading on this procurement but separate contracts will be awarded and each authority will be responsible for the management and administration of its own contract. Services are required for the collection, haulage, processing and sale of recyclable material. Recyclable material is to be collected in bulk from 2 depot locations. North Hertfordshire Council’s material is bulked at New Barn, Great North Road, Radwell, Baldock, Hertfordshire, SG7 5EN and East Hertfordshire Council’s material is bulked at Unit 1 Buntingford Business Park, Baldock Road, Buntingford, SG9 9ER. The Council has considered how this procurement can improve social value in terms of social, environmental and economic well-being. The Council considers that it is appropriate for this procurement to improve environmental and social well-being given the nature of the services provided to the relevant communities. The contract terms and conditions will require compliance with the Council's policies and strategies on environmental matters and the service specification and quality criteria will help ensure the service is delivered to a good standard. Active contract management will ensure the relevant communities continue to benefit from quality public services throughout the contract term.
