Equipment to enable the manufacturing of plastic components, by injection moulding, which is of interest to the aerospace, medical and automotive sectors. It will have significant usage as part of post-graduate taught programmes with the Materials and Manufacturing Academy, industrial research and some undergraduate projects. From a research perspective the College of Engineering would be looking to develop the manufacturing process in collaboration with industry in key areas of expertise such as MuCell production, computational modelling and materials characterisation. To this extent, fully accessible machine parameters and flexible software are important.
