Tender description
This tender is for the supply and implementation of a safeguarding software system that will protect pupils in schools in Coventry from on-line dangers. The system must support schools in meeting their safeguarding duties in ensuring that appropriate filters and monitoring is in place to ensure that children cannot access harmful or inappropriate materials whilst on-line. It must also ensure that children are protected from the risk of radicalisation under the Prevent Duty. The contract will also cover any ongoing annual costs for the use, support and maintenance of the system. The duration of the contract will be for a period of three years with the option to extend for seven further 1 year period at the agreement of both parties. The contract will commence on or as close as possible to 1.4.2017. Alongside this Coventry City Council (CCC) is keen to maximise the use of software systems we contract and to minimise the number of software systems we use where possible. The ICT team would welcome the proposal of software systems that meet the safeguarding requirement but also offer additional functions that can be offered separately from the safeguarding. This could include enhanced safeguarding features, print management, energy saving, asset management for example. The Council's budget for the safeguarding system is £370,000 but the Council reserves the right to spend up to 500 000 GBP under the contract if there are additional system services / benefits that may be of interest to the Council. The contract will also cover any ongoing annual costs for the use, support and maintenance of the system.
