CQC are currently going through a significant amount of change in the way we regulate health and social care organisations across England. Whilst we have always used information and intelligence to support our regulatory activities there is now an increased push to focus and drive these activities with better analysis and use of information. Our corporate strategy outlines the need for CQC to become a more efficient and effective regulator by improving how we: • Use information to identify when and what to inspect; • Use information and evidence to inform our inspection lines of enquiry and judgements; • Exploit qualitative information in our reporting; • Make information available to the public, providers and stakeholders
