Tender description

NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group (the ‘Contracting Authority’) is offering a contract to the successful Bidder to provide Intermediate Care Beds with nursing provision in the Borough of Croydon. The Contracting Authority is seeking to procure intermediate care bed service which will include ‘step up’ beds specifically for the purpose of avoiding acute hospital admission where it is appropriate to do so. The service will also offer ‘step down’ beds when patients are discharged from an acute hospital setting and where the admission is no longer appropriate but the patient is not yet fit enough to return home or to their original care setting. The Services to which this Procurement relates fall within Schedule 3 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (the ‘Regulations’). As such, the procurement of the Services is being run as a bespoke, two-stage application process akin to the Restricted Procedure. Croydon CCG does not intend to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations, save those applicable to Schedule 3 services. This opportunity is also being advertised on Contracts Finder.The contract duration will be three years, with one optional extension for up to two years. It is intended that the new service will commence from 1st April 2017. The annual contract value will circa 436 800 GBP — 455 520 GBP to deliver a core of 12-bed capacity (block contract), with the ability for this to increase up to 3 400 000 GBP over 5 years (this maximum value is where the CCG purchases up to 6 additional beds).
