Tender description

This is a notice for social and specific services in accordance with Directive 2014/24/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council Article 74. Surrey County Council and the Clinical Commissioning Groups in Surrey are seeking proposals to deliver a range of specialist carers support services. This includes 4 separate county wide lots covering: — Young Carers and Young adult carers — Advice and Advocacy; — ‘Giving Carers A Voice’ (carer engagement and awareness raising); — Back care services; — Benefits Advice for Carers. These will be for contracts for up to 4 years; being for 2 years in the first instance with the opportunity for this to be extended by mutual agreement for 2 further periods of 1 year. Effective support for carers and young carers will be based on the active promotion of carers' rights and promoting carer's choice and opportunities for carers to have a life outside of caring. There should be local delivery but a coordinated approach so as to ensure consistency of response to carers. A strong commitment to partnership working will be essential to promote whole system working, carer friendly communities and a carer friendly NHS. There is a strong preference for services to be delivered by carer led organisations with proven track record of supporting carers in the area of work for which the application has been made.
