Organisation: Sefton M.B.C Salary: £500 for each day (includes reading time and travelling expenses) Hours per week: N/A Location: Bootle, Sefton Closing date for applications: 18th November 2016 Sefton Council is looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced childcare professional as the Independent Chair for Sefton’s Fostering Panel, which is held on a Wednesday of each calendar month. The role of Chair is crucial to our success in improving outcomes for Looked After Children. You will be a competent and accomplished Chairperson with experience at a senior level in a Local Authority or voluntary childcare setting. You will have the ability to ensure that the Panel undertake its statutory functions within a clear anti-discriminatory framework and be able to demonstrate expertise in childcare planning and child development. A detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the Legislation Framework for Fostering and a comprehensive understanding of the National Standards, relevant performance indicators and current good practice initiatives are required. The Fostering Panel meets monthly, with planned additional business meetings and training events throughout the year. The Chair will be expected to be available for at least 75% of Panel meetings.
