Summary Of Service Objectives 1 To provide up-to-date expert information, advice, budget assistance and support to enable clients to choose and manage a Direct Payments package. 2 To provide up-to-date expert information, advice, budget assistance and support to enable East Sussex County Council practitioners to discuss and support clients to manage a Direct Payments package. 3 To work in partnership with East Sussex County Council and local voluntary organisations, in developing and promoting Direct Payments as the preferred route to deploying some or all of a Personal Budget and thus promoting independent living. 4 To support Adult Social Care and Children’s Services Authority in meeting the Council’s own, and national targets for increasing the number of people receiving Direct Payments in East Sussex. 5 To identify and develop initiatives and systems in conjunction with the supervising manager that will improve the capacity of the Direct Payments Support Service to meet fully the requirements set out in this Service Specification, (within the agreed contract price and the anticipated growth in the take-up of Direct Payments packages).
