Tender description

Southend Borough Council (SBC) currently has a contract in place until February 2017 for the provision of an independent mobility assessment service for blue badge applications and is now tendering for a 3 year contract to commence from 1st March 2017 with an option to extend for a further two years. The purpose of this contract is to provide robust assessment process including assessment forms and guidance. Responsibility will remain with SBC for performing a triage of received blue badge applications and determining which qualify for a blue badge automatically, which do not qualify at all, and which may qualify following a mobility assessment. The provider is expected to provide an independent mobility assessment service ensuring that all Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists are qualified and registered with the Health Professions Council and have completed an enhanced DBS check.
