BHCC HP Concession Contract for General Needs Housing Launderettes

Tender description

Brighton and Hove City Council (“the council”) require the provision of a launderette service concession, including the supply, servicing and maintenance of laundry equipment for launderettes in its General Needs Housing (GNH) located in the city of Brighton and Hove from 01 April 2017. The concession agreement will be for a term of six years, with an option to extend for up to two years. The concessionaire must provide laundry equipment, which includes washing machines, tumble dryers/drying equipment and sluice machines in the council’s GNH launderettes. The council expects the concessionaire to: • Supply, install, service and maintain laundry equipment (some equipment will need to be installed on a plinth); • If applicable, supply, install and maintain top-up card machines, including the emptying and resetting of the machines; • Provide ongoing servicing and maintenance of the laundry equipment, including replacement as required; • Adhere to relevant health and safety regulations for laundry equipment, including annual Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and servicing; • Provide a 24 hour service helpline where complaints, faults and damage can be reported; • Manage the collection of income at GNH launderettes; • Pay a concession to the council based on net income collected by the concessionaire, at the end of each financial year; • Manage and pay the operating costs for GNH launderettes; • Ensure the laundry equipment is in a secure area. This may include the installation of electronic entry systems at the concessionaire’s cost and maintenance.
